About Mac na'hEireann

Mac nah'Eireann (Sons of Ireland) Was formed in December of 2006 by Ettrei and Runebane on the Hyjal Server after some rather frustrating instance runs with PUGs (Pick up Groups).Working with the understanding that to experience World of Warcraft to its fullest potential one needs Allies by one's side, they began recruiting friends and associates. They encouraged and helped the new recruits along and freely gave as much in game knowledge as was asked for and then some.

They have been doing so ever since.

Mac nah'Eireann is a small, friendly, guild of adults that believe in helping one another out. Whether that be with quests, crafting, PVP (Player vs.Player), goals, or just answering questions our, members are there for each other. We realize that one can get to the highest levels in the game through Solo Play. However, we feel that to experience the game to it's fullest one needs comrades and allies by their side. Friends who can be trusted not to " Ninja" drops, or leave you in the lurch during battle.

Currently we have several level 80's who are doing Northrend instance runs as a group and we are hoping to start raiding in the near future. We also have a rather fun Twink Group in the level 29 Bracket, which we enjoy running in with from time to time. Our guild isn't out to be the biggest, or the best. We are looking to enjoy the time we spend in Azeroth and the company one keeps is a big part of that. So if your looking for a Guild that is helpful, friendly, active and mature, check out the rest of our site, then, if agreeable, fill out an application. I'm sure we'd love to have you with us.

News:

The past week has been one of much activity and change for our small guild, and I have to say it has me feeling a bit better about our overall direction. After Bandelar hammered out the new Guild rules and goals two weeks ago we have all tried to adhere to them and become more active. Though the change has been a little discomforting for some, what with the seemingly aggressive nature of the rules, overall we have adjusted well and for the better.
I am going to try and get those new guidelines posted up on the Wiki section of this website at some point for easy access. I’m afraid it might get buried in the forums and forgotten over time otherwise.

Highlights:
We ran OS ten man with 8 Guild members last Friday night; they were Fishtank, Bandelar, Kuru, Grandsyr, Katsura, Arydachtyl, Rebekah, and Bridgit. The run went much faster than we anticipated and with such a great group dynamic and communication, there were no real worrisome fights. The last boss was more confusing than hard with the walls of fire. Bandelar kept us all informed as to where the gaps would be by calling out positions and as a team we did very well following those commands. Everyone, across the board played to their utmost and were “on their game”, throughout the Raid. I am hopeful that we will be returning here sometime soon and try to get the achievements for defeating the boss with his Drakes up. It will be more challenging but worth it I am sure.

Side note; this was the weekly raid which was a bonus as everyone got Five Emblems of Triumph and Emblems of Frost for completing it.

With time on our hands we decided to take a quick stab at Naxx Spiderwing. It was the same group, sans Rebekah who had to go run an errand, so we were down to seven until she managed to get back for the final boss. These fights were overall, fine but the last boss (forgot name so I’ll call her Spider Bitch) was a little tough. It was a matter of positioning and tactics, once we worked out the proper Strat, and we got our Shaman back, Spider Bitch went to the Dustbin of history. A long night indeed and we all were rather tired by the end of it. Congrats to every one of you for a wonderful effort and good team play.

New Recruits.
A warm welcome should be extended to our three new recruits, who I am confident will be wonderful additions to our small community.

Perrafria: Level 80 Mage
Grizzlyadams: Level 80 Paladin
Adamor: Level 80 Druid

Adamor is working on leveling a Priest as well and it is rumored that once that toon hits 80 and is geared it will be his main. These new players bring to the mix diversity and the opportunity to not just fill raid rosters but also to learn. We will now be able to witness the power of a mage in its full glory, Priest buffs, so long forgotten by us all will soon be part of our play and Healing, that unforgiving burden which Bandelar bears so often without complaint, will be much easier. We have all adjusted in the various fields of play to bring success to our guild whether by alt speccing or trying different rotations etc. This versatility is not lost or negated by the introduction of new classes and members. We are now simply in a better position to take advantage of skills and abilities that come with the new classes. So take a moment or two in game or here, to extend your hand and say hello to our new members, remember you were once new here as well.

Lastly, I want to say that though it seems all the recent changes have come on us really fast, the reality is this. It has been three long years of tiresome and grinding work by all to bring us to this point. We are now positioned to advance to end game content, with not just old friends by our side but new ones too. As a team of friends and comrades, as members of Mac na h’Eireann, we have accomplished so much, before us now is the opportunity to accomplish so much more.
